East Bay Pie was born from the minds of two long time Bay Area culinary industry colleagues. Rahul, one of the cofounders, was inspired by the Bay Area food scene, when he moved here from Bombay in 2008. And Bill having grown up in the East Bay was able to experience a large variety of foods and produce from around the world at an early age. Both came together around the idea of reimagining the quality comfort food of their backgrounds.
Bill and Rahul both come with their own unique backgrounds in the culinary world. Rahul started his own catering company in 2014 after a career as a Product Manager in Silicon Valley and brings both operational and tech knowledge and skills. Bill worked as a chef for a fast casual restaurant while in graduate school and then worked for ten years helping food startups develop culinary operations and food safety processes.
